Chasing Aaron Masiku Who Fled To The Lion Land

JAKARTA - The suspect who gave bribes to the former commissioner of the General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Setiawan regarding the interim replacement (PAW) of the member of the Indonesian Parliament, Harun Masiku, is still at large.

This candidate for the Electoral District of South Sumatra I from the PDI Perjuangan, was even mentioned by the Head of Public Relations at the Directorate General of Immigration, Arvin Gumilang, had flown to the lion country, aka Singapore since a week ago.

"It was recorded that the person concerned (Harun Masiku) left Indonesia for Singapore on January 6," said Arvin when confirmed by reporters in Jakarta, Monday, January 13, without explaining the purpose for Harun to go to the country.

The KPK, which is one step behind Harun, also admitted that they did not know if Harun had left Indonesia. According to Plt. KPK Spokesperson Ali Fikri, the anti-graft agency, just found out that this candidate who originally came from the Democratic Party flew to Singapore after the immigration authorities conveyed it to them.

"The team also did not know at first until immigration delivered it according to the crossing route," said Ali while asking Harun to immediately surrender himself so that the legal process against him could be carried out immediately.

Coordination with Interpol

Not only appealing, it turns out that this anti-graft agency has prepared another strategy to lead the bribe giver to account for his actions. KPK Deputy Chairman Nurul Ghufron said that after Harun's flight to Singapore, his party would immediately coordinate with the police.

"We will immediately coordinate with the National Police to ask for assistance from NCB Interpol," he said when contacted by reporters, Monday, January 13.

He believes that the arrest of Harun who bribed Wahyu Setiawan can be done immediately. "I think catching corrupt criminals will not be difficult to find," said Nurul.

It is known, the KPK has appointed General Election Commission (KPU) commissioner Wahyu Setiawan as a suspect in receiving bribes related to the appointment of members of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2019-2024 period. He was appointed as a recipient of bribes, along with Agustiani Tio Fridelina (ATF) who is a former member of the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) who are his confidants.

The givers of bribes were Harun Masiku (HAR) who was a candidate from the PDI-P in the 2019 Pileg and Saeful who was called a private party but was suspected of being one of the party's top staff.

This case originally started with the death of a PDIP candidate named Nazarudin Kiemas. At that time, in July 2019, PDIP filed a suit for judicial review of Article 54 of KPU Regulation Number 3 of 2019 concerning Voting and Counting of Votes to the Supreme Court (MA).

"The filing of this material lawsuit is related to the death of an elected candidate from the PDIP on behalf of Nazarudin Kiemas in March 2019," said the deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a press conference to determine the suspect in the case that ensnared Wahyu at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 9. .

The proposal was then granted and as a determinant of interim replacement (PAW), the party bearing the bull symbol then sent a letter to the KPU to assign Harun to replace Nazarudin.

It's just that, at that time, the KPU actually appointed Riezky Aprilia as a substitute for the brother-in-law of PDI-P Chairman Megawati Sukarnoputri who had died. The reason is clear, Riezky's vote was below Nazarudin or in second place for the Electoral District of South Sumatra I.

Lobbying was then carried out, with the aim that Harun could become a member of the legislature. Seeing this gap, Wahyu Setiawan as a KPU commissioner said he was ready to help as long as there was an operational fund of Rp. 900 million and the transaction was carried out in two stages in the middle and end of December 2019.
