About The Search For Harun Masiku KPK: Hunting For Fugitives Is Not A Job That Can Be Conveyed In Detail

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that the search for their fugitives, including Harun Masiku, who was the briber of former General Elections Commission (KPU) Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan, could not be disclosed to the public.

Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, asked the public to understand this. The reason is, if the search process is conveyed clearly it can be dangerous.

"The hunt for DPOs is certainly not work whose progress can be conveyed to the public in detail. Because this will actually be counterproductive in the search process," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Wednesday, May 25.

Ali also said that the hunt for fugitives could not be carried out haphazardly because it required a special strategy. "As we understand, the DPO will also definitely take various ways to make their hiding places difficult to find," he said.

Even so, the anti-terror commission confirmed it would detail how it went to find Harun when he was caught. People are asked to be patient.

"KPK will certainly convey if the profres is indeed informed to the public," said Ali.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named Harun Masiku as a suspect in giving bribes to KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan since January 2020. This bribery was carried out so that he would have the convenience of sitting as a member of the DPR RI through time shifts or PAW.

Harun's escape began when the KPK carried out an arrest operation regarding this case on January 8, 2020. In the silent operation, the KPK named four suspects, namely Harun Masiku, Wahyu Setiawan, former Bawaslu Member Agustiani Tio Fridelina, and Saeful Bahri.

It's just that Aaron, who was not caught by OTT, is unknown. He reportedly fled to Singapore and is said to have returned to Indonesia.

Apart from Harun, there are actually three other fugitives who have not been caught. They are Surya Darmadi who has been on the run since 2019; Izil Azhar has been fugitive since 2018; and Kirana Kotama who has been fugitive since 2017.
