PLN Deploys 214 Personnel To Maintain Electricity During The 2022 World Surfing League
BANYUWANGI - The East Java PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) has deployed 214 personnel to maintain electrical infrastructure in support of the World Surf League (WSL) or the 2022 World Surf League in Banyuwangi, East Java.
General Manager of Distribution of PLN UID East Java Lasiran said the personnel would intensively carry out various preventive activities to ensure electricity supply in Banyuwangi.
He detailed that the hundreds of personnel were members of seven PLN Customer Service Implementation Units (UP3), namely West Surabaya, Pasuruan, Malang, South Surabaya, Jember, North Surabaya, and Banyuwangi.
"All of these personnel will carry out maintenance of the electricity network under voltage conditions and Maintenance of Rabas-rabas (Harbas) in the area where the WSL event is held, namely at ULP Rogojampi and ULP Muncar," Lasiran said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 25.
He explained that there were around 63 work locations with a total network length of 13.5 kms which were being carried out for maintenance.
This is to minimize the potential for disturbances arising from external factors.
"We carry out this cross-unit maintenance activity without turning off the electricity, so without compromising the comfort of the community. And personnel will be equipped with three PDKB Touch Direct cars, three remote PDKB cars and a Harbas skylift," he said.
Meanwhile, Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani Azwar Anas appreciated PLN's hard work in supporting the most prestigious surfing event which will be held from 28 May to 06 June 2022.
"A big thank you to PLN for participating in organizing the WSF at the end of this May. We appreciate PLN's work in how it is struggling to pull the power cable and install poles along the 350 meter line to the middle of the sea to ensure the electricity supply during the event runs smoothly, " said Ipuk.
