Kimia Farma Performs First Export To Nigeria

JAKARTA - PT Kimia Farma Tbk has just held a ceremonial release of exports in the form of Multivitamins and Antiseptics to Nigeria. This ceremony was held at PT Kimia Farma Tbk Plant, Pulo Gadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta.

This inaugural export to Nigeria is a milestone of the collaboration between Kimia Farma Tbk and pharmaceutical companies from countries on the African continent. This is also the first stage of the overall cooperation aimed at establishing a regular market in Nigeria.

This collaboration involves various parties, such as the Ministry of Health, POM Agency, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, KADIN, Indonesian Embassy in Abuja and ITPC Lagos.

"This inaugural export is the delivery of the first phase of the cooperation that has been agreed in the Indonesia Africa Infrastructure Dialogue which was also witnessed by President Joko Widodo," said Director of Marketing, Research & Development of PT Kimia Farma Tbk, Jasmine Karsono, Wednesday, May 25.

Jasmine said that this export shipment is expected to be a penetration strategy for Kimia Farma's products in the western part of the African continent. The pharmaceutical products exported are superior products from Kimia Farma with quality that meets GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards, which are produced by Kimia Farma with modern and largest facilities in Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, Jasmine said, currently Kimia Farma's exports only contribute in the range of 2 percent to the company's sales. For this year, he said, Kimia Farma plans to increase its export contribution to sales.

"The contribution of exports to sales is still small, 2 percent. We have only exported to 12 countries. This year, we will increase our export contribution to sales to 6 percent.
