The Person Who Kicked The Offerings At The Semeru Eruption Site Demanded 7 Months In Prison

LUMAJANG - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) has demanded seven months in prison for Hadfana Firdaus, the defendant in the case of kicking an offering at the location of the Mount Semeru eruption in a follow-up trial held at the Lumajang District Court, East Java.

Defendant Hadfana attended a follow-up hearing with the agenda of reading the demands by the public prosecutor which was carried out virtually from the Class IIB Lumajang Correctional Institution (Lapas).

"The defendant Hadfana is required to be sentenced to 7 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 50 million, subsidiary to 3 months in prison," said the Head of General Crimes at the Lumajang District Attorney's Office, Mirzantio, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 24.

Hadfana was charged with Article 45 paragraph 2 of the Electronic Information and Transactions Act (ITE) for intentionally spreading a video of the kicking of offerings at the Mount Semeru disaster site which caused a stir in the community.

"After hearing the reading of the charges, the defendant immediately submitted a plea of defense. The point is that the defendant's plea confessed to his actions and asked for leniency," he said.

One of the aggravating things for the defendant is that his actions have made a noise and disturbed the community in Lumajang Regency, but what is mitigating is that the person concerned has never been punished.

"The defendant confessed frankly that he had committed the act and he was cooperative during the trial," he said.

Prior to the trial, he continued, Hadfana and the complainant who felt aggrieved by the defendant's actions had actually made peace, but the legal process continued.

Previously viral on social media about Hadfana Firdaus kicking an offering at the Mount Semeru eruption site in early January 2022 and finally the police managed to arrest him in Banguntapan District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, in mid-January 2022.
