Indicator Survey: Jokowi's Confidence Level In Handling COVID-19 60.3 Percent-Terawan 45.6 Percent
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Political Indicators survey institute released the results of a survey "Mitigation of the Impact of COVID-19: Economic and Health Interest Pulling". As a result, President Jokowi is still believed to be largely able to handle COVID-19.
This survey was conducted using the telephone contact method to 1,200 respondents. These respondents were randomly selected from those who had conducted face-to-face surveys before the COVID-19 pandemic took place.
The tolerance for error or margin of error for this survey is 2.9 percent and the confidence level is 95 percent. This survey was conducted in the period 24 September to 30 September 2020.
In the survey, Indicators measure the level of public trust in President Joko Widodo and Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto in handling COVID-19.
"In September, there were 60.3 percent who believed that President Jokowi could work on overcoming COVID-19, while 45.6 percent believed in Terawan," said Executive Director of Indicators, Burhanuddin Muhtadi in an online survey release on Sunday, 18 October.
Then there were 24.1 percent of people who felt used to trusting Jokowi to handle COVID-19 and 14.5 respondents who did not believe Jokowi could handle the pandemic.
Meanwhile, there are 30.9 percent of people who feel normal to trust Terawan to handle COVID-19 and 14.5 respondents who do not believe Terawan can handle a pandemic.
According to Burhanuddin, if you look at the trends over the last three months, there is an increase in the level of trust in Jokowi and Terawan in dealing with COVID-19.
"The level of public trust in the President in overcoming the pandemic is still quite high and relatively stable. Meanwhile, the Minister of Health tends to increase compared to previous findings," he said.
