Update On COVID-19 As Of October 18: New Cases Of 4,105, Healing, Increasing 3,732
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 36,378 specimens were examined with the results of 4,105 new positive cases of COVID-19.

Today's cases increased by 3,732, so that a total of 285,324 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 80 people and a total of 12,511 people.
The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 971 new cases and a total of 94,327 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.
Followed by East Kalimantan which has 382 new cases with a total of 47,280 cases. Central Java has 356 new cases and a total of 29,079 cases. Riau has 284 new cases and a total of 11,642 cases. Then, West Sumatra has 263 new cases and a total of 10,963 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,074 cases recovered. Followed by Central Java with an increase of 392 recovered cases, West Java with an increase of 345 recovered cases, and Aceh with an increase of 287 recovered cases.
Then, there are 2 provinces that reported having no new cases today. The provinces are Central Kalimantan and North Maluku.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 4,056,336. In detail, a total of 3,978,865 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 77,471 using a molecular rapid test (TCM).
"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined (positivity rate) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 159,715 people. Currently, 500 districts / cities out of 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
