Jokowi Gives Signal To Volunteers To Support Ganjar, Masinton: Projo Is Only A Mass Organization, Not A Political Party
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) responded casually to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s statement which signaled his support for Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo in front of Pro Jokowi (Projo) volunteers.
According to PDIP politician Masinton Pasaribu, Projo is just an organization that does not have the authority to nominate presidential candidates (candidates) in the 2024 presidential election. Yesterday, it was not a political party forum. That's the Projo mass organization forum," Masinton told reporters, Tuesday, May 24. Meanwhile, said Masinton, it is political parties that have the authority to nominate presidential candidates (candidates). For PDIP, the decision to nominate a presidential candidate rests with General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. "If we (PDIP) the party's decision rests with the General Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, our reference is," he said.
On the other hand, Masinton considered that Jokowi's statement in front of Projo volunteers and attended by the Watimpres, KSP Moeldoko, and the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo was still ambiguous. Masinton admitted that he still did not understand what Jokowi meant by support. Is it related to the discourse of 3 periods, or does it support one of the figures. So according to him, the statement of the former mayor of Solo is still wildly perceived.
“Reading 3 periods or maybe it's very controversial. But also read it for the 2024 presidential election. Mr. Moeldoko is also having a dispute with his party conflict. That can be read as wild," said Masinton. Previously, Pro Jokowi (Projo) volunteers would provide certainty regarding support for the Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo to run as a presidential candidate or presidential candidate in 2024. The decision was taken at the 5th National Working Meeting in Jakarta. Economic Center for Ngargogondo Village, Magelang, Central Java, which has been held since Saturday, May 21, yesterday.
However, President Joko Widodo mandated that Projo not rush in declaring support for the presidential candidate. However, Jokowi had given a signal that he would support Ganjar who was also present at the Projo V National Working Meeting.
"That's why, for political matters, ojo milk, don't be in a hurry. Even though maybe we are here to support," said Jokowi, greeted by shouts from Projo who mentioned Ganjar's name.
