Mode Of Offering Taxi, Brebes Residents Become Victims Of Robbery In Cirebon: Eyes Closed, Hands Tied And Thrown Into The Forest

CIREBON - The Cirebon City Police (Polresta), West Java, arrested three robbers with the mode of offering illegal taxi services to someone who was returning to Jakarta during the 2022 Eid al-Fitr period.

"We arrested three people with the initials MK, DA, and NP. They are a gang of perpetrators of violent theft against travelers from Brebes," said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Arif Budiman in Cirebon, Antara, Monday, May 23.

Arif said that the victim was a resident of Brebes Regency, Central Java, who would return to Jakarta on May 11, 2022.

However, at that time the victim did not find public transportation. Not long ago, the victim was offered an illegal taxi vehicle at a cost of Rp. 150 thousand.

The victim, continued Arif, was robbed by three robbers. They use the mode as an illegal taxi that will take their victims to Jakarta.

However, after walking for about 1 hour, the victim was grabbed by one of the passengers who was a robber and tied and blindfolded with duct tape.

"After that, the victim's valuables were taken, then the victim was left in the middle of the forest in Cirebon Regency with his eyes, feet and hands tied," he said.

Luckily, the victim was found by local residents, then taken to the Waled Police Headquarters, Cirebon Police, to be given help.

From the hands of the perpetrators, his party confiscated 1 unit of a minibus, duct tape, and several other items.

"As a result of his actions, the three suspects were charged with Article 365 of the KHUP and were threatened with a maximum sentence of 9 years in prison," he said.
