Interesting! There Is A Typical Dayak Headband At The Closing Of The Vietnam SEA Games
JAKARTA - Something caught my eye when I was in the lobby of the Vietnam Asian Indoor Game, Hanoi, Vietnam, Monday, where the closing ceremony of the 31st SEA Games was held, in which 14 women wore Dayak headbands.
On the long-sleeved shirts they wear are written "Perwosi" or the abbreviation of the All Indonesian Sports Women's Association.
Chairman of Perwosi, Tri Tito Karnavian, said that the headband came from East Kalimantan, with imitation ornaments that were originally made of pig tusks.
Tri said that the headband was worn to introduce Indonesian culture to Southeast Asian countries.
The wife of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tito Karnavian, is also proud that female athletes can be victorious by donating many medals at this SEA Games.
"We got some gold from women, female athletes... but it doesn't feel like gender either, because the athletes' struggles are extraordinary, yes, they get medals or not, the important thing is that they have done their best to fight for Indonesia," Tri said quoted from Antara.
More than that, according to Tri, the SEA Games are proof that sports unite the people of Southeast Asia. He also appreciated the host's efforts to organize a sports party between the Southeast Asian countries.
"Of course we cannot compare one country to ours. Look at the positive that the host has also tried his best to serve the athletes or officials to come to Hanoi," said Tri.
"We are happy from being ranked 5th, so last day there was a lot of gold ... Indonesia's target was achieved to be in the top three, but hopefully in the future we will get first place, being the best," he added.
At the closing ceremony of the 31st SEA Games, Vietnam delivered its dearest and warmest farewell to all participants in the 90-minute event.
While the opening ceremony features mass performances and spectacular visual effects, the closing will be a more comfortable and friendly type of event, with the motto "Come together to shine."
