KM Anugrah Divine Drowning In The Waters Of Sapudi Sumenep
SUMENEP - The Anugrah Divine Motorboat (KM) sank in the waters of Sapudi Island, Sumenep, East Java due to a leaking hull.
According to the Head of Public Relations of the Sumenep Police, AKP Widiarti, the ship with the Panarukan Situbondo route to Kangean Island, Sumenep Regency was carrying a cargo of 1,000 sacks of cement, 50 sheets of plywood, and 150 sheets of calciboard.
"However, even though the ship sank, the four crew members on board survived and have now been evacuated to Sapudi Island," he said in a press statement quoted by Antara, Monday, May 23.
The four crew members were named Warid, Abdullah, Mubarok and Abdi respectively.
Widiarti said, KM Anugrah Divine experienced a leak in the hull of the ship after arriving around the waters of Sapudi Island, Sumenep.
Not long after, the ship's engine died, and the ship with a capacity of 44 gross tonnage (GT) sank.
"Luckily, the four crew members saved themselves by making a raft from planks and other floating objects," said Widi.
Before the ship sank, some of the four crew members had asked their families for help and reported about the condition of the ship that had a leak in the hull.
"The family of this ship's crew are getting ready to leave, but at the same time there is a KPLP Patrol Vessel, namely the State Vessel of the Marine and Coast Guard, which passes by, and the four crews are immediately rescued," he said, explaining.
Based on ANTARA's records, the marine accident in the Sumenep Islands that hit the Anugrah Divine Motor Ship this time was the second time in the past two weeks.
Previously on May 5, 2022, the Nusantara Belt Ship 91 ran aground on Setabok Island, Sapeken Islands, Sumenep Regency, East Java, after hitting a reef in the waters, around 12.15 WIB.
The Belt Ship bound for Sapeken - Kangean - Kalianget Harbor was carrying 13 motorbikes and 434 people.
At that time the ship suddenly bounced after traveling for about 30 minutes and at the same time there was a loud explosion in the hull of the ship due to the impact of rocks. there were no casualties in the accident.
