Afraid Of Being Attacked By Residents, Cell Phone Thieves Enter The Sewers And Disappear

JAKARTA - People caught stealing cellphones on Jalan Gongseng Raya, RW 011, Cijantung Village, Pasar Rebo sub-district, East Jakarta, managed to escape through the sewers located at the location.

The Head of Pasar Rebo Police, Kompol Agus Ardiansyah, said the perpetrators had broken into one of the residents' houses.

"The perpetrator broke the door of the house, then took two mobile phones," said Agung, Monday, May 23.

While trying to escape, the thief was shouted at by local residents and chose to enter the sewer.

"The victim was shouted at by the victim as a thief, then the perpetrator fled into the sewer," he said.

Furthermore, the police and local residents coordinated with the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. to evacuate the missing perpetrators from the mob. Gulkarmat rescue officers also conducted a search.

Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Head Office, Gatot Sulaeman, said that his party had received an evacuation request to search for the perpetrators. The incident occurred on Sunday, May 22.

"Personnel turning right because the culverts are very far away. So permission has been obtained with the RT/RW administrators and personnel turning right," he said.
