Formula E Riders Don't Need To Trial The JIEC Ancol Circuit Track, Denny Siregar: Not Ready To Make International Events, Racers Can Collision

JAKARTA - Social media activist Denny Siregar criticized the Formula E racing committee in Jakarta for not implementing a track test. The racers can directly pave at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, North Jakarta.

According to Denny, being allowed to race Formula E without a track test is proof that the electric car race is not ready to take place on June 4.

"This is a symptom of not being ready to hold an international event," said Denny via his Twitter account, @Dennysiregar7, Monday, May 23.

Denny said, for the smooth running of an international event, it is no longer an open secret that the committee applies a readiness test for equipment and event locations.

"Music concerts just need a sound check, so the races don't test the track," he added.

He also wondered why the electric car racing event, which has a high potential for accidents, did not run a circuit test before the event took place.

"Well, racers need to know the terrain. Otherwise, they can crash," he said.

As is known, the Formula E drivers at JIEC Ancol do not need to undergo a track test. This was announced by the Chairman of the Jakarta EPIX 2022 Organizing Committee (OC) Ahmad Sahroni yesterday.

Sahroni assessed that the track test was not enforced before Formula E drivers raced at the JIEC Ancol circuit, one of the reasons for implementing the use of simulators.

Sahroni also reasoned that Formula E was different from Formula 1. It was because Formula E circuits in many countries tended to be new compared to Formula 1 circuits which had become regular racing events.

Therefore, he continued, there was no need for a track test at JIEC Ancol, North Jakarta. "F1 is for all countries with existing circuits," he said on Sunday, May 22.
