MATARAM - The police have intensified night patrols in response to the action of an unknown person who shot a motorist at Jalan Gajah Mada last weekend, in Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara.

The Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mataram City Police, Commissioner Kadek Adi Budi Astawa, said the purpose of the night patrols was to maintain security and restore the community's sense of comfort in carrying out activities.

"So, in response to the problems that occurred (the arrows of unknown people) we reactivated KRYD (improved routine activities), one of which was by activating night patrols," said Kadek Adi in Mataran, Monday, May 23.

In this activity, the Mataram Police also deployed special personnel to combat crime, namely the Puma Team. The patrols tonight are also intensified by the ranks of the sector police (polsek).

Night patrols are carried out by traveling around the city to visit every neighborhood, including shopping areas, shopping centers, tourist attractions to places where residents gather, officers also visit.

"Our personnel asked to improve coordination with the environmental security," he said.

Kadek hopes that the community will support these efforts. If there are things that lead to criminal violations, the community must immediately report it.
