Steal 20 Sheets Of Zinc Roof Of Police House, 2 Men In Medan Arrested

MEDAN - The Medan City Police Criminal Investigation Unit team arrested 2 men with the initials PA (44) and MA (34). The two were arrested for stealing 20 sheets of tin roof belonging to their victim, a police officer named Supriyanto (34).

Medan City Police Chief Kompol Rikki Ramadhan said the zinc theft carried out by the two suspects was first discovered on Wednesday, April 13, in the early hours of the morning.

"The victim received information from her neighbor that the zinc roof of her house located on Jalan Perfect was stolen," said Commissioner Rikki, Monday, May 23.

Knowing that the zinc from his house was stolen, the victim immediately reported it to the Medan City Police. Based on the report, the police then launched an investigation.

"From the results of the investigation, the Criminal Investigation Unit received information on the whereabouts of the perpetrators on Jalan Perfect. Both of them were immediately secured with 1 crowbar which was used to take 20 pieces of the victim's tin roof," he said.

From the results of the interrogation, Kompol Rikki said, the two perpetrators stole by climbing from the wall and then climbing onto the roof of the victim's house. After that, the perpetrators took the roof of the house.

"Then the two perpetrators sold the tin roof to an old blacksmith on Jalan Turi at a price of Rp. 175 thousand. Then the money was divided in half.

Currently, the two suspects and evidence have been secured at the Medan City Police for further investigation.

"For their actions, both of them were charged with Article 363 paragraph (1) to 4e and 5e of the Criminal Code," he said.
