COVID-19 Update As Of May 23: 174 New Cases From Examination Of 81,197 Specimens
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 81,197 specimens were examined with the results of 174 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,052,764 people and active cases have fallen by 767 to 2,890 cases", said Ministry of Health data, Monday, May 23.
Today's recovered cases increased by 929 cases, bringing the total to 5,893,340 recovered people. Then, positive confirmation that 12 people died and a total of 156,534 people.
The province with the highest number of new cases was DKI Jakarta with 58 cases and a total of 1,249,800 cases. Followed by West Java with 31 new cases with a total of 1,106,291 cases. Banten has 28 new cases and a total of 292,964 cases. Then, East Java with 18 new cases and a total of 576,110 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to West Sumatra with an additional 340 recovered cases. Followed by Papua with an additional 170 recovered cases, DKI Jakarta with an additional 115 recovered cases, and West Java with an additional 114 recovered cases.
In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 98,171,807.
"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 0.32 percent", it wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or currently categorized as suspected cases is 2,610 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.
So far, 169,917,330 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 166,911,457 people have received the second dose of vaccination.
While the third dose of vaccination was 44,273,456. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
