Attended By Mahfud MD, 2 KRIs Involved In Launching Pintudutas On Talaud Island
MANADO - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian are scheduled to attend the launching of the Integrated Border Development Movement (Gerbangdutas) in Wanala, Melonguane, Talaud Islands Regency, North Sulawesi (North Sulawesi), 24 May 2022.
Kadispen Main Base of the Indonesian Navy (Lantamal) VIII Marine Lieutenant Colonel (KH) Amja Gultom said the Indonesian Navy involved two Indonesian Warships (KRI) in supporting Pintudutas.
"The two ships are KRI Pulau Raas-722 from the Mine Ship Unit (Satran) Fleet Command II and KRI Kakap-811 from the Patrol Vessel Unit (Satrol) Lantamal VIII," he said in Manado, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 23.
In addition to the declaration of Gerbangdutas, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and the Minister of Home Affairs are also planning to make a working visit as well as to review Miangas Island, which is one of the foremost islands in the Talaud Archipelago Regency.
He said, apart from being involved in the launching of the Pintudutas, the two KRIs also carried out security for the sea area in the border area which became a sea crossing route.
The two KRIs, which departed from the Satrol Lantamal VIII Pier, carried personnel and supporting materials used in the launching of Pintudutas from Bitung, Melonguane, Miangas, Kakorotan, and returned to Bitung to support the planned visit of the two ministers on Miangas Island.
