Snapchat Is Working On A Parental Control Feature In Its App

JAKARTA - Recently, Snapchat was reported to be preparing to introduce a parental control feature, dubbed "Family Center".

This feature allows cavers to see who their child is friends with on the app, as well as who they've messaged with over the past seven days.

According to TechCrunch, Snap CEO Evan Spiegel first teased the planned offering during his interview with WSJ Tech Live in October.

In the interview, Spiegel explained that the feature would give parents better visibility into how teens are using the service and hopefully make them feel more comfortable with the app.

"We haven't announced the name of this product yet, but we basically have a family center so young people and their parents can use Snapchat together," Spiegel said.

This new parental control feature also allows parents to assist their teen in reporting abuse and abuse.

Apart from this new feature, Snapchat has just introduced a new suite of editing tools for its content creators dubbed Director Mode.

Director Mode offers a new set of camera features and editing tools within the app to make videos look better than ever.
