Nagan Raya Jade Mosque Starts Visited By Local Tourists
JAKARTA - The Baitul A'la Grand Mosque in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh has begun to be visited by local tourists and legislators from a number of regions in the province. This mosque is covered with natural jade stone so it looks magnificent.
"Although the jade installation work at the Grand Mosque is still being carried out, the visits of local people and tourists have started to arrive, this is very encouraging," said the Head of the Nagan Raya Perkim Agency, quoted from Antara , Saturday, October 17.
He explained that the mosque built by the local government is expected to become one of the Islamic tourism icons in Aceh, because most of the mosque buildings are covered with jade.
A type of jade stone is installed, including on the walls and floor of the mosque.
It targets that the jade installation on the floor will be completed this year with an area of 800 square meters, while the installation on the wall is estimated to be around 124 square meters.
Tamarlan added that the Nagan Raya Regency Government is currently working to complete the construction of the grand mosque with a target of 2022.
To be able to complete all the natural jade installation processes and the construction of two mosque minarets, his party has also proposed a budget of IDR 35 billion in 2021.
However, he said, a budget of this size is planned to be accommodated in the 2021 Aceh Expenditure Budget (APBA).
