PLN Badung Guarantees No Power Outages During UTBK SBMPTN
BADUNG - During the Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK) for the 2022 State University Entrance Joint Selection (SBMPTN) which took place on May 23, May 28—June 3, PT PLN (Persero) ensured that there would be no power outage.
For the Bali area, PLN has implemented standard operating procedures (SOPs) and deployed personnel to prevent and anticipate if blackouts occur.
"We have prepared SOPs to support this activity, and have deployed 101 standby personnel and supporting infrastructure, including 5 UPS units (backup energy devices), 2 generator units, and 8 mobile substations," said PLN UID Bali Senior Distribution Manager, I Made Suamba, as quoted from a written broadcast received by Antara in Badung, Sunday.
Suamba explained that he had checked a number of electricity supply sectors, including operating systems, generation, transmission, distribution, and security at the test site.
He added that PLN also checks the condition of the equipment and prepares backup energy supplies at each test location.
"Since May 9, PLN has been active
a series of preparations, namely by planning and mitigating electricity supply risks to support this activity," said Suamba.
He said the electricity supply from the power plant in Bali was still in a safe condition at 1,322 Megawatts (MW), and the peak load reached 819.4 MW. Thus, there is a power reserve of 502.7 MW or about 38 percent.
Not only that, PLN also does not carry out planned maintenance on the networks that supply electricity to the test site.
"The daily planned maintenance is carried out through the Work Team in Voltage Conditions so that maintenance can be carried out online, namely by direct or distance touch methods," said Suamba.
He also appealed to PLN customers who experience electricity problems or need service during the UTBK to directly contact the company through the PLN Mobile application which can be downloaded via a device.
