Anthony Joshua Continues To Polish His Ability To Beat Oleksandr Uysk
JAKARTA – Anthony Joshua continues to polish his ability to face a rematch with Oleksandr Usyk. He realized that natural talent was not enough for him to avenge the defeat of his opponent.
The British heavyweight boxer lost in a mega duel with Usyk at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September last year. The defeat cost him the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles from the Ukrainian boxer.
For this reason, he continues to hone his skills ahead of the rematch. Anthony said he could only rely on natural will if he wanted to win the title again.
"Before it was just raw talent. So there's still a lot you need to polish. I've fought the best of this era," Joshua told the Oxford Union.
Anthony and Usyk agreed to have a rematch on July 23. The location of the match is Saudi Arabia.
Facing that schedule, Anthony Joshua seemed very serious in preparing himself. He even made special preparations that he had never had in his previous fights.
"Not only does it depend on it [going raw], but I feel like I've added more to my arsenal," he said.
Anthony Joshua has recently received criticism from many people. He is considered to prioritize his businesses more than undergoing regular training as a professional boxing athlete.
However, he deflected the criticism. According to him, it will not be a problem if he pursues boxing cum his business.
"I never thought I'd be moving more into the business world when I first started boxing," he responded
"But what I said before is true, as an athlete you level up and then you become the voice of politics, the voice of religion. You become the strength of your family, the financier of your family," continued Anthony.
