Escorting Demonstration Action, Thousands Of Police Guard At Horse Statue And DPR
JAKARTA - The police deployed 5,750 personnel in a security scheme for student and labor rallies. The mass action plan is to express their opinion in front of the DPR-MPR Building and the Horse Statue, Central Jakarta.
"Currently, we have deployed 5,750 personnel," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Komaruddin to reporters, Saturday, May 21.
In the security scheme that has been prepared, thousands of personnel will be placed in two action locations. They will ensure that the demonstration ends peacefully and safely.
"So now we have dispersed the personnel, we divide them into rings 1, 2, 3 to ring 4 specifically in the Horse Statue area as well as in the DPR," he said.
Then, to anticipate the occurrence of chaos, all ranks at the Polres level have been on standby in each region.
They will monitor groups suspected of riding the masses and making a fuss that will lead to chaos.
"We have coordinated with the Polres-Polres around (for example, red) the West, North, East, South Jakarta Police. Including the Polres-Polres in the agglomeration area, Tangerang and so on to carry out surveillance monitoring," said Komaruddin.
Regardless of the security scheme, Komaruddin asked the crowd to obey the rules. So, the activity of conveying the opinion can run as expected.
"We must comply with applicable laws and regulations and also pay attention to the rights of other road users," said Komaruddin.
