Bogor City DPRD Does Not Want CSR Funds To Stagnate At IDR 4 Billion

BOGOR - The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of Bogor City, West Java, does not want the social and environmental responsibility (TJSL) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds for companies in their area to stagnate at Rp4 billion from year to year.

Deputy Chairman of Commission IV Said Muhammad Mohan questioned the weak participation in corporate social responsibility, so he will summon the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) of Bogor City in the near future.

As a first step, Commission IV of the Bogor City DPRD will request a report on the 2021 CSR funds issued and distributed by companies in the city.

"So, until now, the Bogor City Government has not reported the 2021 CSR funds. From there it will be seen and evaluated," he said in Antara, Friday, May 20.

Mohan said, from the data that has been reported in 2020, starting from 2016 CSR funds seem to fluctuate every year, starting from Rp. 1.6 billion in 2016, then increasing to Rp. 7 billion in 2017 and decreasing to Rp. 4 billion from 2018 carried out by 18 company.

Unfortunately, he said, the figure of IDR 4 billion continued from two years before the COVID-19 pandemic, aka 2018 to 2022, which is still running, so that for four years CSR funds have stagnated at IDR 4 billion from only 18 participating companies.

Mohan explained that the use of CSR funds has been stated in Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2016 concerning Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL). However, in the existing regulations or Perwali which is a derivative of the regulation, it is assessed that it has not run optimally.

In fact, according to him, the DPRD feels disturbed to criticize reports that companies that carry out social responsibility or spend CSR funds only abort obligations with a value of only a few hundred thousand.

By calling Bappeda and the Bogor City TJSL facilitation team for the 2021 report, the DPRD will play a role in maximizing CSR funds after evaluating whether it is still stagnant or not.

This year, the Bogor City DPRD will play an active role in overseeing the distribution of CSR funds and encourage CSR forums to play a more active role in picking up the ball.
