Bambang Widjojanto: The KPK Leadership Service Car Is Ineffective, Does Not Affect The Quality Of Corruption Eradication
JAKARTA - Bambang Widjojanto highlighted the procurement of official cars for the leadership, supervisory board, and structural officers of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). According to the former KPK leader, the procurement of official cars is ineffective because it will not affect corruption eradication performance.
"Cars with high CC are not efficient and effective because they do not directly affect efforts to accelerate and improve the quality of corruption eradication," Bambang said in a written statement, Friday, October 16.
He said, Firli Bahuri, cs at this time did not set an example because from the start, the KPK should have been a institution that prioritized efficiency, effectiveness, and upheld integrity and simplicity.
In addition, from the management side, the provision of official cars is also considered inappropriate. This is because the KPK is built to have a single salary system in which there is a transportation allowance.
"So based on that point, there should no longer be the provision of vehicle facilities because it will be redundant," he said.
Bambang said that if the KPK leadership received the official car, they would have committed a despicable act and even violated the code of ethics.
"Because they received double financing in their salary structure," he said.
The KPK previously confirmed that the DPR had approved the budget for official car procurement.
"In the KPK 2021 budget, the information we received is true that there is DPR approval regarding the budget for the procurement of official cars for leadership, senior citizens and structural officials within the KPK," said KPK Acting Spokesperson Ali Fikri in his statement in Jakarta, Thursday.
Based on information, the budget for the official car of KPK chairman Firli Bahuri is worth Rp1.45 billion. Meanwhile, the four deputy chairmen of the KPK are Rp1 billion each.
However, he said, the amount of detailed budget for official car procurement is currently not final.
"It is still under discussion, especially regarding the detailed budget ceiling for each official car unit," said Ali.
