Bandung City Government Trials Kopo Flyover Before It's Officially Used
BANDUNG - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has started testing the Kopo Flyover for vehicles to pass before it is officially used by the general public.
Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana said the trial was also carried out to ensure public safety. It will also evaluate the completeness of the signs.
"A week of testing, we'll ask again about the signs and their accessories," Yana said in Bandung, West Java, as reported by Antara, Friday, May 20.
Although it has been tested, Yana is not sure when the flyover will be inaugurated and can be used for the public.
Previously, the Bandung City Government targeted the flyover to be used in Ramadan or April 2022.
Meanwhile, the Head of Transportation Safety and Order at the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Kuswara, said that the trial was carried out for vehicles in both directions.
According to Asep, the trial was conducted to check the safety of the road to be crossed by various types of vehicles. Especially, he said, checking was done by looking at the condition of the vehicle when it was going downhill from the flyover.
"Tests in the framework of one whether the friction between the tires and the road how. Two if there are derivatives there are problems or not," said Asep.
So far, according to him, the condition of the flyover construction has reached 90 percent. The rest, he said, was just to complete the street lighting and a number of necessary signs.
