Men Wearing Striped Shirts Suffer From Mental Disorders Admits Officers Want To Attack Mosque Administrators With Knives

JAKARTA - Officers have arrested a young man without an identity who has a mental disorder or suffers from mental illness (ODMK) in the Condet area, Kramat Jati, East Jakarta, Thursday, May 19, evening.

From the information gathered, the ODMK man carrying a knife wanted to injure the mosque management around the location. The perpetrator even wore a striped shirt and had admitted to being an officer.

"No (stabbing residents). We have secured no casualties. The point is there are no victims, ODMK has been secured at Duren Sawit Hospital for treatment," said Kasie

Social Rehabilitation (Rehsos) East Jakarta Social Sub-dept. Yanto when contacted by VOI, Friday, May 20, afternoon.

Yanto explained that the ODMK had been secured following up on reports from the public.

"He comes from Purwakarta, there is no family. His name is a madman, it is said that it is unclear (no identity). He is currently being treated at Duren Sawit Hospital," said Yanto.

Yanto further said that the East Jakarta Social Sub-Department's quick reaction team (TRC) officers secured the ODMK based on reports from the public.

"We are following up on community reports. Coincidentally, our officer is at the PGC post, it's close to Condet, Kramat Jati. The ODMK was immediately taken by our TRC to Duren Sawit Hospital, because he ODMK cannot go directly to the nursing home," he explained.

Furthermore, after undergoing the post-mortem at Duren Sawit Hospital the results are out, then the ODMK will be sent to a social rehabilitation center.

"If they have been handled by us, they are under our control. Because the ODMK does not have a family. If there is a family, we will contact them," he said.
