For Three Years, Anies Has Led DKI, The Realization Of River Naturalization Is Not As Promised

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan today celebrates three years of leading Jakarta. There is one policy that has been criticized by the DKI DPRD, namely the realization of river naturalization, which is not in accordance with the campaign promise.

Chairman of the PSI DPRD DKI Faction Idris Ahmad said that the progress of the realization of the promise of naturalization of the Anies river which is predicted to be a flood prevention program is still 0 percent.

"It can be said that the progress of river naturalization is still 0 percent. PSI hopes that Governor Anies will be honest in conveying information to the public," said Idris in a webinar discussion, Friday, October 16.

Anies claimed to have succeeded in making an example of the naturalization concept of rivers in the West Flood Canal (KBB) Sudirman-Karet segment a few months ago. So far, Anies explained that naturalization is basically the same as normalization, but prioritizes reforestation or replanting.

The naturalization that Anies meant was replacing river walls from concrete to green areas to protect the ecosystem. However, in the naturalized location beside the BNI City Airport Train Station, several parts of the concrete construction jutting into the river can be seen. The concrete construction is in the form of stairs down so that it can be accessed by the public, just for taking pictures and relaxing.

"This project is different from the concept presented by Governor Anies. The reason is that the KBB project is in the form of concrete pavements for hangouts and selfie spots. There are absolutely no aspects of flood prevention and ecosystem protection there," said Idris.

This river naturalization project is called "River / River Infrastructure Development and Completeness of the West Flood Canal for the Karet sd Sudirman Segment" which is allocated in the 2019 APBD.

The budget issued was IDR 12.7 billion. The executor of this project is PT. Jhuda Citraguna.

In Bappeda's presentation at the Public Consultation on Blood Work Plans (RKPD) on January 30, 2020, naturalization activities were carried out in a river that was already wide and just built a park on the river bank.
