There Is No Agreed Title Duel, McGregor Is Considered Just A 'virtual World Fighter'

JAKARTA - Conor McGregor has been in the process of recovering from a leg injury for too long. He has been absent from the octagon since 2020.

Of his last four fights, the Irish fighter has only won once, against Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone. Since then, he has lost three times and suffered a broken leg.

However, The Notorious is working hard to get back to his best to face his next possible opponent when he returns.

However, so far it remains unclear whether he will continue fighting at heavyweight or move up to welterweight again. What we do know is that McGregor gets to choose who he wants to fight next.

If McGregor wants a title fight against the welterweight champions, that means he's up against Kamaru Usman. However, 'Nigerian Nightmare' does not fully agree because McGregor deserves to get the title first.

Moving up the division is not as easy as it seems, just ask 'Canelo' Alvarez how he did against Bivol.

Instead of fighting Usman head-on, McGregor needs to deal with it with caution if he doesn't want to tarnish his track record. But, in a recent interview, Ali Abdelaziz was cold towards the legendary fighter.

Maybe this agent from Kamaru Usman has a point, as McGregor is enjoying his life outside the octagon too much lately.

In this interview reported by The Mirror, Abdelaziz decided to give McGregor a new nickname.

"Conor McGregor, as I told others earlier today...he's recovering from his injury. Nobody cares about Conor McGregor. He hasn't won a fight since (Barack) Obama became president. He's popular because he's a Twitter fighter now", said Abdelaziz.

"He's an Instagram fighter. The last time he fought, did he show us he's worthy enough to fight for the UFC title? Listen to me. I understand the UFC business, but I know Dana White as the back of my hand. Dana White would never give Conor McGregor a title fight after three defeats. I know him. And if he did, I would be very surprised."
