SAR Team Finds Bodies Of Tourists From East Java Who Drowned In Palabuhanratu
SUKABUMI - The joint SAR team found the body of tourist from East Jakarta (Jaktim) Dandi Taufik (16) in a dead condition, after four days he was declared missing and drowned on Citepus Istiqomah Beach, Palabuhanratu District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java.
"The victim was found in Cisolok Waters, Cisolok District, Sukabumi Regency about 7 nautical miles from the location where this tourist drowned," said the Head of the Jakarta SAR Office as SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation, Hendra Sudirman in Sukabumi, as reported by Antara, Thursday, 19 May.
According to Hendra, on the fourth day of SAR operations against missing and drowning tourists, his party as usual divided into two teams to conduct searches on land and at sea, even the joint SAR team expanded the search area.
The victim's body was found in the waters of the Cisolok Sea and immediately evacuated to the Palabuhanratu Hospital using a rubber boat.
After the post-mortem et refertum was carried out at the Palabuhanratu Hospital, the body of the teenager who traveled to Citepus Beach on Sunday (15/5) was handed over to the family to be taken to a funeral home in East Jakarta and buried.
With the discovery of the latest body, the SAR operation was closed, which two days earlier or on Tuesday (17/5) the body of M Alpan who was also a relative of Dandi was found dead in the waters of the Citepus Sea.
"In the marine accident that befell three tourists from East Jakarta at Citepus Istiqomah Beach on Sunday (15/5), two died and one survived. We also offer our condolences to the families of the victims," he added.
Hendra expressed his appreciation to all SAR personnel and volunteers as well as the community who participated in this humanitarian operation and he appealed to tourists to always pay attention to safety signs and appeals from officers when traveling on the south coast of Sukabumi Regency.
