A cafe in Florence, Italy has been fined 1,000 euros, after angry customers called police to complain about the price of hot drinks.
The cafe in question is Ditta Artiginale, a famous coffee shop in Florence. The fine was imposed on Monday, because the cafe was judged to have failed to display the price of a cup of coffee on their counter.
A customer who objected to calling the local police was annoyed by the price of a cup of decaffeinated coffee, which costs 2 euros, or around Rp. 30,988 per cup.
Regarding the incident, Ditta Artigianale explained, the coffee in question came from a Mexican plantation and had been 'prepared with great care by the barista'.
It is known, the average price of a cup of espresso in Italy is around 1 euro or around Rp. 15,494. Although, many coffee shops in the Land of Pizza have raised their selling prices this year.
The cafe owner said he was 'ready to pay for the blame', but criticized the law and fines, saying prices had been displayed on a digital menu.
