BNNP East Java Fails Circulation Of 16.9 Kilograms Of Cannabis

SURABAYA - The East Java Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNNP) has thwarted the circulation of 16,963 grams or 16.9 kilograms of marijuana-type narcotics resulting from the disclosure of two different cases.

"One of the methods used by the suspect was by inserting marijuana in packages containing coffee grounds," said the Head of the East Java BNNP Brigadier General M. Aris Purnomo in Surabaya as reported by Antara, Thursday, May 19.

The officers arrested three suspects, each with the initials YF, a resident of Kedurus Surabaya, HGA, a resident of Jember who lives in Malang, and AH, a resident of Wagir Malang.

The first disclosure, he said, was made against the suspect YF who was found to be storing marijuana with a total of 1,981 grams or 1.9 kilograms.

In front of the officers, YF admitted that he got the marijuana by buying it through Instagram social media.

Then, in the second case, he said that he had arrested the suspects with the initials HGA and AH.

The officer received information that at one of the package offices in Klojen and at Bandulan Field in the Sukun area of Malang City there would be narcotics transactions.

After an investigation, officers arrested HGA for receiving a package containing marijuana.

From the arrest, officers confiscated a brown package containing 15 packs of marijuana with a total weight of 14,982 grams or 14.8 kilograms.

Furthermore, the East Java BNNP and HGA officers headed to Malang's Bandulan Field and there they met suspect AH as the recipient.

"While trying to retrieve the package, the suspect AH tried to run away. The officer took decisive and measured action in the form of a shot in the left leg," he said.

According to the suspect's statement, he and HGA received the marijuana package on the orders of his superior, Sinyo, who is currently on the wanted list (DPO).

AH admitted that he had received marijuana packages five times on orders from his superior, Pablo, who was also on the DPO.

For his actions, the suspect is threatened with criminal Article 114 paragraph (2) Subs Article 111 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
