Sahroni Wants To Use Rain Handler In Formula E, But Not Mbak Rara Mandalika

JAKARTA - Head of the Formula E Executive Committee Ahmad Sahroni said that his party would prepare a rain handler to launch the implementation of Formula E in Ancol on June 4.

"We are looking for the top rain handler for the North Jakarta area. The handler is from within the country," said Sahroni when met at the Formula E circuit area, Ancol, North Jakarta, Thursday, May 19.

However, Sahroni admitted that he would not use the same rain handler as the Mandalika MotoGP, namely Rara Istiani Wulandari who was widely known by the public after the ritual action to ward off the rain at that time.

"(The rain handler) NTB and the handler in Ancol are different. If the (condition) is a bit heavy, we will fly Rara here. But it doesn't feel like (the condition) is (heavy)," he said. As of today, the progress of circuit and non-circuit construction has reach 100 percent. Then, the construction of temporary facilities such as audience seats, paddock, barrier, podium, and stage reached 70 percent.

Meanwhile, in terms of ticket sales, currently, about 28 percent of the total 52,500 tickets sold for Formula E have been sold. The Ancol Festival and Circiut Festival categories with a quota of 40 thousand tickets have already sold 10 thousand.

Then, the Grandstand category with the provision of 10 thousand seats has sold around 7 thousand tickets. The VIP category with 1,050 seats has been completely sold out. Then, the VVIP category with 1,500 seats has been sold 50 percent.
