Blue Origin Cancels Space Tourist Show Tomorrow, Here's Why!

JAKARTA - Blue Origin seems to have failed at the party, it is claimed that the fifth human space flight of the companies will be canceled on Friday the next day.

That will be the launch of Jeff Bezos' company NS-21, the next mission of the New Shepard suborbital vehicle. Unfortunately, the plan failed due to a technical error from the spacecraft.

"During our last vehicle inspection, we observed that one of New Shepard's backup systems did not meet our expectations for performance. With the utmost care, we will be postponing the launch of the #NS21 which was originally scheduled for Friday. Stay tuned for further updates," Blue said. Origin via its official Twitter.

New Shepard consists of a rocket and a capsule, both of which are reusable. On this space tour, the company will send six people on a short trip into suborbital space from the West Texas Blue Origin launch pad.

Katya Echazarreta, who was one of the passengers, will be the first Mexican-born person to reach suborbital space. Another, Evan Dick, will be a crew member who has ridden New Shepard repeatedly. Dick has also flown on the NS-19 mission, which was launched on December 11, 2021.

Launching Space, Thursday, May 19, the NS-21 rocket will make a vertical landing shortly after liftoff, and the capsule will return to Earth shortly for a soft landing with the help of a parachute.

The New Shepard mission lasted approximately 11 minutes from takeoff to landing of the capsule. Passengers will experience several minutes of weightlessness and be able to see Earth from up there.

The company has carried out four manned missions to date, taking off in July 2021, October 2021, December 2021 and March 31 this year.

For information, Blue Origin is not the only company that sells seats on suborbital flights, while Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic is also doing space tourism.

Virgin Galactic has had four manned space flights, but all of them were test missions. The company plans to start commercial crew flights in early 2023.
