According to Koster, the main purpose of this tourism grant is to help local governments and the hotel and restaurant industry which are currently experiencing financial disruption as well as "recovery" from the decline in local revenue (PAD) due to the COVID-19 pandemic with an implementation period of until December 2020.
Koster said that the central government, through the Minister of Finance, approved the proposal for tourism grants affected by COVID-19 for districts / cities in Bali. The grant is outlined in the Letter of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia Number: S-244 / MK.7 / 2020 dated 12 October 2020
Regions that receive grants are tourism destinations that have experienced the impact of financial disruptions and decreased PAD, especially those originating from Hotel and Restaurant Taxes (PHR) and have an impact on tourism businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the Letter of the Minister of Finance, a total of 101 regencies / cities throughout Indonesia, including nine regencies / cities in Bali, received grant assistance.
"The total tourism grant is IDR 3.3 trillion, and nine regencies / cities in Bali received IDR 1.183 trillion or around 36.4 percent. The tourism grant is allocated for tourism business actors by 70 percent and district / city governments by 30 percent. , "said Koster as quoted by Antara .
The details of tourism grants of IDR 1.183 trillion for each regency / city in Bali, namely Denpasar City (IDR 52.95 billion more), Badung Regency (IDR 948 billion more), Gianyar (IDR 135.13 billion), Karangasem (IDR 13.6 billion). billion), Buleleng (Rp. 13.42 billion), Klungkung (Rp. 9.71 billion), Tabanan (Rp. 7.44 billion), Bangli (Rp. 991.9 million) and Jembrana Regency (Rp. 1.77 billion).
Koster said the grant assistance was a proposal in the form of a We Love Bali Movement Proposal compiled by tourism business actors at the direction of the Governor of Bali, which was handed over directly by the Governor of Bali and tourism business actors to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy at the Ministry Office, Jakarta, at 9 March 2020.
"The Letter of Determination for Granting Grants is the basis for the Provincial / Regency / City Government in allocating funds in the APBD for economic recovery activities in the tourism sector. The realization process, procedures for utilization and accountability for the use of tourism grants, are carried out by regional heads through the Ministry of Finance," he said.
