Study Tour Of 130 Students From North Sumatra To Aceh Besar Ends In Disaster, 3 People Are Killed By The Current At Lampuuk Beach
ACEH BESAR - Three students from North Sumatra (North Sumatra) died after being swept away by the current and drowning at Lampuuk Beach, Lhoknga District, Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province, Wednesday, May 18.
Aceh Besar Police Chief AKBP Carlie Syahputra said the three students were members of the study tour group of the Raushan Fikri Islamic School Foundation from North Sumatra.
The study tour group includes 130 people, consisting of students, accompanying teachers, and parents of students. They visited Lampuuk Beach on Wednesday afternoon.
"Some members of the group played in the water on the beach after receiving information from the manager of a beach resort regarding areas that may be used for swimming," he explained when contacted from Banda Aceh, Antara, Thursday, May 19.
While playing in the water on the beach, a student named Fath Rasyid Annafi Ginting (16) was swept away by the current and three of his friends tried to help him. However, his friends who tried to help him were swept away.
Officers were then dispatched to help them and took them to the Lhoknga Health Center for medical treatment.
Three students were declared dead, namely Dzaky Al Khairi (14) from Binjai City and Ibnu (18) and Ahmad Fahriza Sufi (15) from Langkat Regency.
Meanwhile, Fath Rasyid Annafi Ginting from Langkat Regency is in critical condition and was immediately taken to Meuraxa Hospital, Banda Aceh City.
"The bodies of the three victims have been returned to the funeral home using an ambulance from PMI Banda Aceh City and PMI Aceh Besar District," said AKBP Carlie Syahputra.
