Police Free 11 People Related To Viral Ambulance In Menteng, Case Rises For Investigation
JAKARTA - The police sent back eleven people who had been arrested in connection with the ambulance incident that fled and tried to hit the police in Menteng. But the police raised the status of this case to investigation.
"We have returned everything," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus to reporters, Thursday, October 15.
Yusri said there were 11 people who had been arrested in connection with the escape of the ambulance. They are the drivers and passengers of two secured ambulances.
"So the 4 people we secured were actually 11 of the 2 ambulances in Menteng," he said.
Currently investigators are still gathering evidence to prepare legal constructs.
"While waiting for the investigative team to complete the evidence. We have raised it to the level of investigation. Evidence is to collect what article construction they are suspected of later," he said.
The police previously arrested 4 people when an ambulance escaped from the police in Menteng.
While trying to escape, the ambulance nearly hit the officers who wanted to check the contents of the car. Officers fired tear gas at the car.
"We know there are 4 people in the ambulance and tried to escape by backing off and almost running into officers," he said.
