Public Satisfaction With Dropped Performance, Jokowi Suggested To Postpone IKN And Reshuffle Cabinet

JAKARTA - The founder of the KedaiKOPI survey agency, Hendri Satrio, believes that President Joko Widodo must focus on fixing the economy. This is because public satisfaction with Jokowi's performance begins to decline. It is known, the results of the Indonesian Political Indicators survey stated that Jokowi's electability is now at 58.1 percent, down 6 percent from the previous survey of 64.1 percent. Starting from the increase in basic needs, the scarcity of oil to the availability of jobs.

"Right now, President Jokowi should concentrate on fixing the people's economy," said Hendri, Thursday, May 19.

Hendri said, there are two suggestions that Jokowi must implement in the near future to improve the level of satisfaction with his performance. First, delaying the construction of the new State Capital (IKN), which is considered to be a waste of money. That way, said Hendri, the IKN budget can be diverted to programs that directly affect the people.

Second, Jokowi needs to make a cabinet reshuffle or reshuffle. Hensat said, even though Jokowi's administration will soon end, he still needs to evaluate the performance of his ministers.

Because according to him, it is not impossible that Jokowi actually experienced a blunder at the last minute of the administration because he did not care about the performance of the ministers.

"And please reshuffle the cabinet even though it will end soon. In injury time there are not only beautiful goals, but also fatal blunders that make you lose," he concluded. Previously, the Indonesian Political Indicators Survey Institute noted that the level of public satisfaction with President Joko Widodo's performance had decreased to Meanwhile, in December 2021, the results of the Indonesian Political Indicator survey stated that public satisfaction with President Joko Widodo's performance at that time was 72 percent.

This figure is based on a survey of 1,228 respondents who were taken at random. The survey was conducted on May 5-10 2022 with a margin of error of 2.9 percent.

"Those who say they are satisfied are 8 percent, those who say they are quite satisfied are 50.1 percent. A total of 58.1 percent," said Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi in a virtual press conference, Sunday, May 15.

According to Burhanuddin, the main factor for the declining level of performance satisfaction with Jokowi is the rising prices of basic necessities.

"Previously, the highest (dissatisfaction factor) was especially when COVID-19 was rampant, it was COVID-19. After COVID-19 began to be under control, the issue that was considered important and became a source of dissatisfaction was job creation, now is the increase in cost of goods. "Meanwhile, based on the survey, respondents who stated that they were not satisfied with Jokowi's performance were 29.1 percent and 6.1 percent were not satisfied at all.

"There are 35 percent of the public who say they are not satisfied with Pak Jokowi's performance," said Burhanuddin.
