BKKBN Focuses On Handling Stunting Cases In 30 Villages In Nagan Raya Aceh
MEULABOH - This year's National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) focuses on handling and preventing stunting in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province.
"There are around 30 villages in Nagan Raya Regency that are the focus of stunting management this year," said the Program Coordinator of the West Aceh and Nagan Raya BKKBN Program Imran in Meulaboh, Tuesday 17 May.
He explained that 30 village locations in Nagan Raya Regency were the focus of integrated stunting prevention and management interventions, each in Seunagan District including Krueng Mangkom, Rambong Rayeuk, Blang Puuk Nigan, Kuta Rambong, Kuta Kumbang, Nigan, and Krueng Ceh Villages.
In Tadu Raya Sub-district covering Pasie Luah, Gunong Geuleugo, Gunong Kupok, Gunong Sapek, Simpang Jaya, and Cot Mue, in Beutong Ateuh Banggalang District covering Babah Suak Village, Blang Puuk, Kuta Teungoh, Blang Meurandeh, in Kuala Pesisir District consisting of Villages Lueng Teuku Ben, Purwodadi, Cot Rambong, Kubang Gajah, Kuala Tuha, Padang Panyang, and Arongan.
In addition, Suka Makmue District consists of Meureubo Village, Gampong Teungoh, and Blang Sapek, while in East Seunagan District consists of Blang Preh Village and Darul Makmur District includes Gunong Cut Village, Kuta Trieng.
The handling carried out by his party included outreach to the public about the dangers of stunting for children, including the provision of nutritional intake to increase children's growth from infancy.
In addition, his party conducted socialization to the prospective bride and groom about the importance of implementing a clean and healthy lifestyle, as well as providing education to the community to consume healthy and nutritious food, including providing good and healthy nutrition for infants to toddlers.
"Actually, stunting can be prevented in children under two years of age, as long as from birth and toddlers are given adequate nutritional intake for the growth and development of children from an early age," said Imran, quoted by Antara.
