Cleaning Up SOEs Again, Erick Thohir Immediately Disbands Four Red Plate Companies: Merpati, Istaka Karya, PANN, To Paper Leces
JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir plans to disband four SOEs. The disbandment will be processed first through the Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU).
The four state-owned companies in question are PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines, PT Istaka Karya (Persero), PT Financing Armada Niaga Nasional (PANN), and PT Kertas Leces (Persero).
Special Staff to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Sinulingga, said that his party would first process the case through the PKPU trial, before the four state-owned companies were legally dissolved.
"We will take it back to PKPU, for Merpati it will go to PKPU as well, Istaka Karya will also. PT PANN and PT Kertas Leces are also being brought to PKPU for the process of being disbanded," said Arya to reporters, Tuesday, May 17. .
As is known, the Minister of SOEs, Erick Thohir previously officially dissolved three SOEs, namely PT Industri Gelas (Persero) or Iglas, PT Kertas Kraft Aceh (Persero), and PT Sandang Nusantara (Persero). The dissolution of the three SOEs was carried out through the SOE asset management under PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (PPA) and Danareksa, at the company's General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS).
The GMS for Sandang Nusantara was held on February 2, 2022, Iglas on February 10, 2022, and Kertas Kraft Aceh on February 11, 2022. After the GMS, PPA formed a liquidation team to prepare for the dissolution of the three SOEs.
Currently, the Ministry of SOEs and PPA management are still waiting for a Government Regulation (PP) which will be used as the legal basis for liquidation.
SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the PP on the dissolution or liquidation of the three SOEs would be issued in June 2022. Erick also explained that efforts to reduce or downsize state-owned companies continue to be pursued until 2024.
