Masniari Wolf, Successful Young Swimmer Donates Gold From Swimming After 11 Years Of Famine At SEA Games
JAKARTA - The swimming sport managed to make a breakthrough at the 2021 SEA Games Vietnam (2022) through Masniari Wolf's stunning appearance. Down in the 50 meter backstroke, Masniari successfully donated gold for the country.
Masniari's success in winning the gold medal was a big surprise for the swimming sport. Because from the start, Masniari's name was not a name that was taken into account to appear at the 2021 SEA Games.
Another fact is that Masniari is a reserve athlete who is the last name approved to go to Vietnam. Despite his status as not superior, he proved his performance could surpass his seniors.
This was proven by Masniari through the fastest achievement among his competitors. In his appearance on Sunday, May 15, Masniari carved a time of 29.21 seconds.
Masniari's gold medal ended 11 years of lack of title for Indonesia's women's number swimming sport. The reason is that the last time Indonesia won a gold medal was in the women's swimming event at the 2011 edition of the SEA Games in Palembang.
Masniari Wolf is still considered a young athlete, because he is currently 17 years old. Having a mulatto face and curly hair, the teenager who lives in Wiesbaden, Germany, has Indonesian blood from his mother who is from North Sumatra.
This classy achievement could not be separated from the intervention of his parents, who had introduced Masniari to the world of swimming since he was a baby.
Long before he successfully won a gold medal at the 2021 SEA Games, Masniari had made many brilliant achievements in the swimming world in Germany.
According to HSV's records, Masniari has been runner-up for the DJM 100 meters backstroke and the South German vintage champion in the 100 meters and 50 meters backstroke in 2019.
The first time Masniari received an offer to defend Indonesia was ahead of the 2021 SEA Games. In the limited time remaining for the contingent's departure, Masniari received an invitation to represent the Red and White at the Southeast Asian level event.
After receiving the invitation and agreeing, Masniari never even joined the national training with the Indonesian swimming team. Masniari prefers to decide to practice independently and then depart directly from Germany with his mother.
When appearing at the SEA Games Vietnam, Masniari was able to beat the Filipino swimmer, Jessica Joy Geriane Taguba who only recorded a time of 29.350 seconds.
It didn't stop there, Masniari was also able to beat her compatriot, Anak Agung Istri Kania Ratih Atmaja who won a bronze medal in the same event, namely the women's 50 meter backstroke.
