Merauke SAR Searches For Crew Of KM Gili Manuk 05 Who Crashed In The Maro River
JAYAPURA - The Merauke SAR team is looking for Fernando Cipayung, ABK KM Gili Manuk 05 who fell in the Maro river.
"The victim fell while getting off the ship onto a speed boat that would take her to Merauke city," said Merauke SAR chief Supriyanto Ridwan, quoted by Antara, Monday, May 16.
He explained that the incident was initially reported by the personnel of the Lantamal XI Merauke patrol unit, Serda Novianto by telephone to the SAR post which was received at around 04.45 WIT.
KM Gili Manuk 05 is currently anchored in the middle of the river.
The location of the incident is at coordinates 0828'37.35'' S - 14022'52.87'' E or 5.78 km from the Merauke Search and Rescue (SAR) office.
"A team of SAR members using rubber boats conducted a search around the scene," said Supriyanto.
From the reports received during the search, it was reported that the weather was sunny and cloudy with wind speeds ranging from 10 - 25 km/hour and wave heights between 0 - 0.5 meters.
Until this news is revealed the victim has not been found, the search will continue Tuesday (17/5).
