2 Impostor Police Prisoner Passes Away, Medan Police Chief Denies Persecuted

JAKARTA - Two robbery prisoners with fake police, Joko Dedi Kurniawan and Rudi Efendi died at the Sunggal Police Station, Medan, North Sumatra. There were rumors that these two people died unnaturally.

Kapolrestabes Medan, North Sumatra Kombes Riko Sunarko denied the allegation that the two detainees died. According to him, based on an internal examination, his party did not abuse him.

"From the results of our internal examination that this never happened. The results of the interim examination," said Riko during a press conference at the Medan Police Headquarters, reported by Antara , Wednesday, October 14.

Apart from examining internally, said Riko, his party had also examined and asked for information from five detainees who were also suspects of robbery in the fake police mode. They were arrested with Joko and Rudi on October 9.

"Because they are always together everywhere, whether in the examination, in the cell or at the RTP of the Sunggal Police, they are always together," said Riko.

He explained that Joko had been hospitalized five times. Even before he died, Joko was treated for five days. Likewise with Rudi, who has also been treated twice in the hospital. However, he did not explain the illness suffered by Joko and Rudi.

"The medical record is there, but we cannot convey it here regarding the medical record," he said.

Regarding the autopsy, said Riko, the family had refused and stated that they accepted, and signed a letter of objection to an autopsy.

Previously, the death of two detainees from the Sunggal Police, who were suspects in this fake police robbery, was considered unnatural.

This was conveyed by the families of the two suspects to the Medan City Legal Aid Institute (LBH) which was then reported to the North Sumatra Regional Police.

Based on the suspect's family report to LBH Medan, it was found that there were irregularities in the death of the two detainees, because there were wounds to the head and chest, peeled skin of the hands and the entire body was blue.
