PDIP Insistence On Harun Masiku To Submit

JAKARTA - PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto asked his cadre Harun Masiku to immediately surrender himself to the KPK because he was involved in the case of alleged inter-time replacement bribery (PAW) for elected 2019-2024 members of the Indonesian Parliament to Commissioner KPU Wahyu Setiawan.

"We support the KPK's push. Because it is part of the KPK's authority. The KPK has stated that we provide support for this. Of course, as citizens, every citizen has a responsibility to obey this matter," said Hasto on the sidelines of the First National Meeting of the PDIP, Kemayoran, Jakarta. Center, Sunday 12 January.

Hasto also admitted that he was ready to be summoned by the KPK to provide information regarding the process of submitting PAW to the KPU by PDIP based on the Supreme Court decision.

"We have prepared ourselves physically and spiritually because our responsibility as citizens must uphold the law without exception," he said.

Hasto emphasized that his party is not responsible for the alleged case of inter-time replacement bribery (PAW) for the elected 2019-2024 members of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) that was carried out by PDIP candidate Harun Masiku to KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.

"So the PAW issue which then has parties who then carry out negotiations is outside the responsibility of PDIP," said Hasto.

Hasto emphasized that his party would take action in accordance with the instructions of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri and also party regulations. However, he continued, his position as Secretary General would be responsible for this.

Regarding the alleged PAW bribery case, said Hasto, neither party nor the KPU could negotiate the positive law. Hasto said that the PDIP has become a victim of this framing.

"The issue of changing between times is a common thing for parties, part of the sovereignty of political parties. And it is rigidly regulated by laws and statutory regulations," said Hasto.

He added, when there are parties who try to commercialize the legality of the PAW which is based on the results of the judicial review to the Supreme Court and also the MA fatwa, then the party conducting the commercialization uses abuse of power.

"That should be the focus of why it happened," explained Hasto.

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still looking for PDIP cadre Harun Masiku (HAR), a suspect in a bribery case related to the interim replacement process (PAW) for members of the Indonesian Parliament from the PDIP faction for the 2019-2024 period.

"To this day, the KPK is still searching for HAR suspects. The KPK asks the person concerned to immediately surrender and urge other parties related to this case to be cooperative when investigators need information in the legal process of this case," said Plt. KPK spokesman Ali Fikri in Jakarta, Saturday 11 January.

Ali stated that being cooperative with the KPK would not only help investigators resolve cases more quickly, but would also provide the opportunity for those concerned to explain related to the case.

On Thursday, January 9, the KPK announced four suspects related to the criminal act of bribery in determining the elected candidates for the 2019-2024 DPR RI. As recipients, namely members of KPU RI Wahyu Setiawan (WSE) and former member of the Election Supervisory Board or Wahyu's confidant, Agustiani Tio Fridelina (ATF).
