JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) received reports of 395 items or objects of gratification related to Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah with an estimated value of Rp. 274,117,519.

"As of this weekend, the KPK has received reports of 395 items or objects of gratification from the public during Eid al-Fitr with an estimated value of Rp. 274,117,519," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Prevention Ipi Maryati Kuding in a statement, Antara, Sunday, May 15 .

Ipi explained that the report consisted of seven objects in the form of souvenirs or placards with an estimated value of IDR 4,350,000, 268 objects in the form of bouquets of flowers, food and drinks with an estimated value of IDR 153,736,899.

Then, nine objects in the form of money, vouchers, precious metals with an estimated value of Rp32,290,000 and 111 objects in other forms with an estimated value of Rp83,740,620.

"The reports consist of 367 reports of acceptance and 28 reports of rejection of gratification," said Ipi.

Currently, he said, some of the reported items have been received by the KPK and some are in the process of being sent by the reporting parties.

"KPK is also still receiving other gratification reports and we will update it at the next opportunity," he said.

The KPK expressed its appreciation to the parties who have reported the acceptance or rejection of the gratuity. This is the first step to prevent corruption.

"Previously, the KPK conveyed an appeal through Circular Letter Number 09 of 2022 concerning Corruption Prevention and Gratification Control related to Hari Raya," he said.

The KPK continues to invite the public to avoid the practice of gratification, both as givers and recipients, because gratification can be included in a criminal act of corruption.

"If due to certain conditions, a civil servant or state administrator cannot refuse the gratuity, he is obliged to report it to the KPK no later than 30 working days after the gratification is received," said Ipi.
