Survey: The Majority Of Respondents Agree AGO Completes CPO Export Cases That Ensnared The Director General Of The Ministry Of Trade
JAKARTA - The results of the Indonesian Political Indicator survey stated that the majority of respondents wanted the investigation of cases of alleged corruption in the provision of export facilities for crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivatives to be completed.
The Executive Director of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi said 68.7 percent of respondents agreed that the AGO would quickly resolve the case.
"We ask, how confident are the Attorney General's Office (AGO) will resolve the corruption case providing cooking oil export facilities? Those who believe or strongly believe it will increase in May," said Burhanuddin when reading out the results of the online survey on the Indonesian Political Indicator YouTube channel, Sunday. May 15.
The very confident figure in April 2022 was 9.4 percent, increasing to 9.6 percent in May 2022. A significant increase occurred in the fairly sure answer, from 52.1 percent in April 2022 to 59.1 percent in May 2022.
Thus, in May 2022, around 68.7 percent of respondents believe that the Attorney General's Office will resolve the corruption case in granting cooking oil export facilities.
"If asked in general whether they support the AGO's steps in solving corruption, that is also very high," he said, as reported by Antara.
As many as 83.7 percent of respondents strongly support and quite support the steps of the Attorney General's Office in resolving corruption cases in providing cooking oil export facilities. These results indicate the high level of community support for law enforcement measures taken by the government.
Furthermore, 89.5 percent of respondents support President Joko Widodo's policy to temporarily ban the export of cooking oil.
"This means that the normative attitude of the public strongly supports this step of the President," said Buhanuddin
However, this national survey in May also showed that 72.8 percent of residents still feel that the current price of cooking oil is unaffordable or not affordable at all. The survey also found that only 5 percent of residents bought bulk cooking oil according to the highest retail price (HET) set by the government.
"This shows that the export ban policy has not succeeded in reducing the price of cooking oil," said Burhanuddin.
This national survey targets the population of Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and over or already married and owns a mobile phone. The sample selection was done through the random digit dialing (RDD) method.
This technique is a technique of selecting samples through the process of randomly generating telephone numbers. Through this technique, as many as 1,228 respondents were selected through a process of random phone number generation, validation, and screening.
The survey's margin or error is estimated at 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, assuming simple random sampling.
As is known, the Attorney General's Office has named four suspects in the case of alleged corruption in the provision of export facilities for CPO and its derivatives. One of them is the former Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade (Director General of PLN of the Ministry of Trade) Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana (IWW).
