Bethesda Delays Starfield And Redfall, Xbox Boss: It Was A Tough Decision
JAKARTA - Bethesda announced that Starfield and Redfall will be postponed from 2022 to the first half of 2023.
"The team at Arkane Austin (Redfall) and Bethesda Game Studios (Starfield) have tremendous ambition for their games, and we want to make sure that you receive the best and most polished versions of them," Bethesda said in the announcement.
Following the news, Xbox boss Phil Spencer admitted that it was a tough decision even though he agreed to give the game an extension of time until they were ready.Really great to be @bethesda seeing games and talking with the talented teams here. "These decisions are tough on the team making the game & our fans. While I fully support giving the team time to release this great game when they are ready, we hear feedback," said Phil, in a separate tweet.
"To deliver the quality & consistency estimated, we will continue to work to better meet these expectations," he continued.
It was also announced in January that Microsoft intends to buy Activision Blizzard in a $68.7 billion deal.
