Moms, Please Get Ready! SOE ID FOOD Distributes Cooking Oil At 50,000 Location Points, Price Will Be IDR 14,000 Per Liter
JAKARTA - Distribution of bulk cooking oil at IDR 14,000 per liter has started again. This time, the Government through the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) is targeting up to 5,000 location points in Indonesia.
"The pilot project for distributing bulk cooking oil to 5,000 points will be carried out by SOE Food ID FOOD," said BUMN Deputy Minister Pahala Mansyuri as quoted by Antara, Sunday, May 15.
The cooking oil distribution pilot project will start this weekend and will only last until the end of May 2022.
The 5,000 location points are traditional markets located in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Riau, Bengkulu, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
The government places the role of cooking oil retailers as extensions of food SOEs in distributing cooking oil to the public.
"Not only traders or large-scale entrepreneurs, retailers or stalls, but even MSMEs can also become BUMN partners in the distribution of cooking oil," said Pahala.

Furthermore, Pahala conveyed that the current issue of cooking oil is not only a supply shortage but also an effort to stabilize cooking oil prices according to government regulations considering that there are still many retailers and small stalls selling above the highest retail price.
The government encourages Food SOEs to expand the market to the sub-district, RT, and RW levels to record households that need cooking oil.
In addition, the Food SOEs are also expected to be able to prepare a special platform for the development of the Warung Pangan application managed by the company to ensure the distribution of cooking oil online and monitor the affordability of cooking oil prices of IDR 14,000 per liter to the consumer or community level.
