Crocodiles Often Appear, Kupang Residents Are Advised Not To Do Activities On The Beach
KUPANG - Residents of Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) are advised not to move around the beach for a while to avoid crocodile attacks that appear in several local coastal waters.
"For the time being, residents should not carry out activities on the beach because crocodiles have appeared in the last few days", said the Head of Pasir Panjang City of Kupang, Robert Octavianus, quoted by Antara, Saturday, May 14.
The appeal was delivered as a follow-up to the results of a meeting between the Village Head of Pasir Panjang and the Center for Natural Resources Conservation (BBKSDA) of NTT regarding crocodile activities in the Pasir Panjang Sea, Tode Kisar, and Kampung Solor.
Robert said that if residents continued to carry out activities on the beach, they had to increase their awareness of the conditions around them.

In addition, do not try to bait or catch crocodiles without supervision from the NTT BBKSDA.
Robert added that if there were residents who saw signs or the appearance of crocodiles, they could contact the NTT BBKSDA through the contact number 081268857513.
He hoped that the appeal would be a concern for residents to avoid crocodile attacks which could threaten life safety.
