5.3 Mag Earthquake Shakes Papua At 09.25 WIB

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 rocked the Papua region and its surroundings this morning. BMKG has confirmed that there is no potential for tsunami waves due to this earthquake.

Data released by BMKG, Saturday, May 14, this earthquake occurred at 09.25 WIB. The center of the earthquake depth was 90 km.

The location of the earthquake was exactly 8 km southeast of Jayapura. Or 92 km northeast of Yalimo.

"This earthquake has no TSUNAMI potential," the BMKG wrote.
