Bobby Nasution Supports Construction Of Stilt Houses To Overcome North Medan's Rob Flood
MEDAN - The Mayor of Medan, North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution fully supports the committee for the construction of houses on stilts to deal with tidal flooding that occurs twice a month in northern Medan.
"If the project is in accordance with the image shown, we will fully support and disseminate it to the public," said Bobby as quoted by Antara, Thursday, May 12.
This was conveyed by Bobby Nasution after receiving a visit from the committee for the construction of houses on stilts in the northern part of Medan at Medan City Hall.
Accompanied by a number of related OPD leaders in the Medan City Government, Bobby Nasution reminded that when this project is carried out later, it must be ensured that the problem of tidal flooding is resolved.
"The purpose of building this stilt house is to solve two problems, namely tidal flooding and suitable housing. These two things must be the main reference for this development," said Bobby.
"I want all of these problems to be completely resolved regardless of who owns the land and who doesn't," said the Mayor of Medan.
Ida Mariana Harahap, the head of the committee for the construction of stilt houses in the northern part of Medan, admitted that Neighborhood VIII of Belawan Bahari Village, Medan Belawan was the pilot project for the first phase.
"The first stage of the construction of a house on stilts with type 36 we are doing is intended for 600 families," he explained.
"The houses on stilts that will be built will be given free of charge to residents. We will also create green open spaces, and plant mangroves in an effort to anticipate tidal flooding," said Ida.
